See Levenhuk Rainbow Microscopes in action
Stylish and attractive, Levenhuk Rainbow 2L Moonstone Microscope can turn even the most boring biology class into enthralling research. This microscope allows children to find out what things around them are made of, to study insects and plants, see whether yogurt really does contain living organisms, and many other interesting things. Levenhuk Rainbow 2L Moonstone comes with an experiment kit, which means that a young explorer can start using the microscope right away.
High-quality glass optics
All optical elements of the microscope are made of high-quality, highly transparent glass. In order to further increase light transmission, the lenses are covered with multilayer coating–that’s why produced images are so clear, crisp and contrast. The microscope is equipped with three objectives lenses, which allow for 40-400x magnification range. All you need to do to change the magnification is turn the revolving nosepiece.
The ability to observe transparent and non-transparent objects
In order to observe a sample, place it on the microscope’s stage and secure with the two convenient stage clips. If the sample is transparent, for example a thin slice of onion or mosquito wing, you need to turn on the lower illumination. If you want to study some opaque objects – coins, plant leaves or paper – don’t forget to turn on the upper illumination. And if you turn on both upper and lower sources of light, you can also observe semitransparent samples. Illumination brightness is adjustable, so you can easily set the level of illumination that works best for every sample.
Thought-out design
The microscope body is made of lightweight and at the same time sturdy plastic. Due to its small weight, the microscope is easily transportable and can be taken along to school or when visiting friends. The head is inclined at 45° for more comfortable observations. The device can be powered either through an electrical receptacle or by batteries, meaning it can be used not just at home and at school, but also outdoors.
Caution: Please refer to the specifications table for the correct mains voltage and never attempt to plug a 110V device into 220V outlet and vice versa without using a converter. Remember that mains voltage in the U.S. and Canada is 110V and 220-240V in most European countries.
Experiment Kit
The microscope comes with Levenhuk K50 Experiment Kit, which allows you to carry out a number of interesting experiments–for example, you can observe a fly limb and even grow a population of aquarium pets (brine shrimp). The kit includes a colorful user guide with useful recommendations on working with the microscope, valuable tips on preparing microscope slides, and descriptions of the most entertaining experiments.

Hi! Bought this microscope to a kid as a Christmas gift and we are all happy with it. Thanks! Is this microscope capable of such observations at all? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Paramecium caudatum can be observed under 100x and above, therefore Levenhuk Rainbow 2L Moonstone Microscope is suitable for that. You can find more information on observations of Paramecium caudatum here - https://www.levenhuk.com/reviews/paramecium/.

Hello! I’m choosing a gift for a 10-year-old kid. I’m choosing between this model and Levenhuk Rainbow 50L Plus. Which model will be optimal? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Rainbow 50L PLUS is preferable as the kit contains an experiment kit, case for transportation and storage. Its magnification makes it suitable for secondary school curriculum.
