Can I see galaxies through Levenhuk Strike 50NG telescope? Levenhuk Customer Service:
You can see craters on the Moon, Saturn`s rings, cloud stripes and satellites of Jupiter, stars up to 11.5 stellar magnitude, spots on the Sun (only with an aperture solar filter), and many objects of the Messier catalog. However you won`t be able to make out any details. You won`t be able to observe galaxies using Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope.
(2017-08-17 12:09):

Hello. Could you tell me please what do I need to do in order to use this telescope during the day time? Levenhuk Customer Service:
During daytime you can observe only ground objects using Levenhuk Skyline 76x700 AZ telescope. We recommend observing space objects in at nighttime, at a distance from cities, avoiding light pollution.
(2017-07-18 07:30):

I have no sight in one eye and I want to watch the birds in my yard on the feeders and bird houses..My binoculars are difficult to use and I was hoping that you might have a telescope fixed to a stand that would enable me to birdwatch....Thanks! Bob Fenty Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Robert, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! For your purpose, we'd recommend consider buying our spotting scope. It comes with a tripod and you will get a direct image. Please check our Levenhuk Blaze 50 Spotting Scope. Is there any additional information you might need?
(2017-05-29 10:16):

Hello. Could you tell me please, which telescope is better? Levenhuk Skyline 50x600 AZ or Levenhuk LabZZ T3? Levenhuk Customer Service:
We suggest choosing Levenhuk Skyline 50x600 AZ telescope
(2017-05-29 09:11):

Hello. I am trying to choose from Levenhuk LabZZ T3 and Levenhuk Strike 50 NG. I am interested in the telescopes' capabilities. The additional equipment for the Strike 50 NG isn't important. According to the characteristics listed, Levenhuk LabZZ T3 is better, but it doesn't have glass optics, right? What do you recommend? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG will be better because of the greater picture resolution. Also, take a look at Levenhuk Strike 60 NG telescope https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-60-ng/ It has larger lens diameter and focal length
(2017-05-12 05:58):

Can I see Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury and Saturn in this telescope? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope is the most suitable for Moon observations. You can also see Jupiter cloud stripes and its satellites. Uranus and Neptune will be visible in the form of small greenish stars.
(2017-04-26 09:07):

What this thing will let me see? Levenhuk Customer Service:
With the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope, you can watch the Moon. Other planets will be the size of peas.
(2017-04-06 10:17):

Hello. Is it possible to somehow upgrade kit optics to improve the picture. I really want to see the rings of Saturn clearly. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Unfortunately, it is not possible to use additional optics with the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope.
(2016-10-31 06:31):

Is it convenient for terrestrial viewing? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes, Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope is convenient for terrestrial viewing.
(2016-08-25 06:25):

Is it suitable for Saturn viewing? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Saturn, when observed with Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope, appears as a small pea.
(2016-05-30 09:27):

What objects can I see with such a small magnification power? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope can be used for detailed lunar viewing, Solar System planets will be seen as small peas.
(2016-05-24 08:01):

Hello! really like the instrument... But I have one question. When I observe Jupiter's moons using Barlow lens, the image gets very blurry, the same thing happens with terrestrial objects. What am I doing wrong? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope used with a Barlow lens provides too strong magnification, therefore, images get blurry.
(2016-04-27 04:14):

The box says magnification is 200x. So focal length is 600mm, the lens is 6mm, so we get 100x. How did you get 200x? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The kit of the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope includes Barlow lens that provides for additional magnification.
(2016-03-17 06:00):

What is the magnification of the telescope with each eyepiece? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope comes with F20 mm and F6 mm eyepieces that give you 30x and 100x magnification, respectively.
(2016-02-29 05:04):

Do I really need a lunar filter to observe the Moon? Thank you in advance! Levenhuk Customer Service:
The Earth's satellite reflects quite a large amount of the Sun's light, that is why our eyes get tired very quickly, and most of the details get lost. Lunar filter will cut down glare and reduce the Moon's brightness, showing us more details on its surface.
(2016-02-29 04:46):

Will I be able to observe planets with this model? For example, observe Saturn's rings? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope is great for observing the Moon. Planets will appear as small peas. The rings of Saturn can be observed with Levenhuk Strike 80 NG model - Levenhuk Strike 80 NG Telescope (https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-80-ng/).
(2016-02-28 07:30):

What case would you advise for this telescope? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Zongo 20 Telescope Case; Small, Black - https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-zongo-20-telescope-case/.
(2016-02-26 10:13):

Hello! What filters are suitable for this telescope model? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Unfortunately, Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope has a non-standard eyepiece barrel diameter. Such filters are not available in our store.
(2016-01-01 01:04):

When I look at street name signs the images are mirrored. Is it supposed to be like that? Or just wrong assembly? Levenhuk Customer Service:
As all other refractors, Levenhuk Strike 50 NG produces mirrored images (reversed left-to-right).
(2015-12-02 05:54):

hello. As you say, solar system planets will be seen as bright peas. What if I use 6mm eyepiece plus Barlow lens? If it still won't work, advise me some other model suitable for planetary observations... thx Levenhuk Customer Service:
The maximum useful magnification of the model is 100x. If you use 6mm eyepiece in combination with 3x Barlow lens, you will have 300x magnification power, which is too high for the model - images will get blurry, but planets will still have the size of small peas. You can try using the Barlow lens with 20mm eyepiece (note that planets will still appear as pears) or consider another telescope model (much better for your purpose) - Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS (https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-90-plus/).
(2015-09-25 11:04):

Thanks a lot, everything's ok now! So what's the Barlow lens for? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The Barlow lens allows you to triple your magnification. But unfortunately is also deteriorates image quality.
(2015-09-25 08:32):

Hello! We've recently bought this telescope and yesterday we tried to observe the Moon. The Moon appears as a blurry spot, no craters at all... We also tried to change the accessories, but no improvement... What did we do wrong? Levenhuk Customer Service:
First, use F20mm eyepiece (without Barlow lens) - turn the focusing wheel very slowly until the image is sharp. To get higher magnification power you need to repeat the previous step using 6mm eyepiece. It would be better if you don't use the Barlow lens.
(2015-09-24 03:53):

what additional accessories would you recommend for this telescope? Is it possible to equip this telescope with a larger objective lens? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope has a non-standard barrel diameter. There's no possibility to attach additional accessories. You can buy another optical tube (with larger diameter), but it is not reasonable, as the mount of the model won't be able to support it. We recommend that you consider another telescope model with larger objective lens diameter and more stable mounting system.
(2015-07-02 05:07):

telescope's height? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The tripod's height is adjustable and ranges from 24.8 to 42.52 inches (630-1080 mm).
(2015-05-14 05:34):

Which telescope's better: Levenhuk Strike 50 NG or Levenhuk Strike 80 ng? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 80 NG Telescope is preferable due to a larger objective lens diameter (aperture).
(2015-04-07 06:33):

Hello, Levenhuk! Tell me please... can I use Levenhuk 5x Barlow Lens with this telescope? Levenhuk Customer Service:
No, if you use Levenhuk 5x Barlow Lens with Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope, the highest practical power of the instrument will be exceeded. We recommend using 3x Barlow lens (included in the kit).
(2015-03-16 05:49):

Hello! I would like to know one thing... is it true that I can observe deep-sky objects and solar system planets? I doubt that with such a small aperture I will be able to see all these things. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope allows you to see the lunar surface with its crates and mountains, Solar System planets will appear as small bright peas. Find more information here: http://www.levenhuk.com/reviews/things_you_can_see/.
(2015-02-04 06:46):

Hello, I have a couple of questions. Why do I need batteries to use this telescope? Where do I insert them? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The backlighting in the finder scope of the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope works on batteries. The batteries should be inserted in the battery compartment, which you can find on the finder scope itself.
(2015-01-12 10:29):

Which eyepieces can I buy for this telescope? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The Levenhuk Strike 50 NG kit already includes two Kellner eyepieces: 6mm and 20mm. In addition to them we would recommend Levenhuk Plossl 7.5 mm Eyepiece - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-plossl-7-5mm-eyepiece/.
(2015-01-01 11:15):

Hello! And still images are upside down... tell me what to do to make them direct? At least so they don't reverse up and down? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Produced images are reversed from left to right. Unfortunately there's no possibility to make them completely direct as we don't have suitable 0.965" accessories at the moment.
(2014-12-03 03:33):

What lenses come in the kit? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope comes with 3x Barlow Lens, 20 mm and 6 mm eyepieces.
(2014-12-02 09:06):

Hello! 1. Can I observe from my balcony? 2. What is a material of the optical tube? 3. Are batteries for the finderscope included in the kit? Levenhuk Customer Service:
1. Yes, the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope is ideally suited for observations from your backyard, balcony, or rooftop. 2. The tube body material is firm plastic. 3. Batteries are not included in the kit.
(2014-12-01 08:22):

Can I observe comets, the Milky Way, Solar System planets? Levenhuk Customer Service:
With the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope you will be able to see detailed views of the Moon, constellations, Solar System planets (seen as stars), the Milky Way.
(2014-12-01 02:03):

Hello! Through which telescope I can see planets not as stars but the way I see the Moon? Levenhuk Customer Service:
With the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG model you will only be able to see planets as stars. For more detailed observations we recommend using Levenhuk Strike 80 NG Telescope - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-80-ng/.
(2014-11-06 08:26):

I want to buy a telescope for my granddaughters, aged 9 and 11 (very smart), but can't see any difference between the descriptions of the Strike 50 and the 60. Why should I perhaps buy the 60 if the 50 is just as good? What's the telescope difference to justify the price difference? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Sandy, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products. The Levenhuk Strike 60NG telescope is a little bit more powerful as it comes with a 60 mm objective lens diameter and 700 mm focal length. The Levenhuk Strike 50NG model comes with a 50 mm aperture and 600 mm focal length. It means that you will be able to see more details with the help of the Strike 60NG model. Is there any additional information you might need? Looking forward to your reply.
(2014-10-29 08:13):

I use 20 mm eyepiece with 3x Barlow lens. I tried to focus but the image is still blurred. What might be the problem? Levenhuk Customer Service:
We recommend you contact our Customer Service Department to solve this problem.
(2014-10-08 11:06):

Does the kit include telescope case or not? Levenhuk Customer Service:
No, Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope kit does not include a telescope case. You can purchase a case separately in this section - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-cases/. Also, we recommend you consider Levenhuk Strike PLUS telescopes http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/series-strike-plus/ that come with an extended kit of accessories.
(2014-08-20 09:46):

Will I see Mercury, Venus and Mars? Levenhuk Customer Service:
With the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope you will be able to observe the Moon in details, to see many constellations and Solar System planets without details.
(2014-08-20 01:06):

Can I observe in the city? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes, the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope is suitable for observations both in the city and in the countryside.
(2014-08-19 03:36):

What planets you can see with this? Levenhuk Customer Service:
With Levenhuk Strike 50 NG Telescope you will see lunar craters, the rings of Saturn, cloud bands and moons of Jupiter. You will be able to see that Milky Way consists of myriad of separate stars and make many more exciting discoveries.
(2014-08-14 12:15):

Good evening=) I have never owned a telescope before and thinking about buying this one. Please tell me, will I be able to observe sun spots? What about polar caps on Mars? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Detailed information on what you can see with telescopes of different apertures may be found here - http://www.levenhuk.com/reviews/things_you_can_see/.
(2014-08-07 03:31):

As I remember the maximum useful magnification is D*2 = 100. When why it's 200x in the specification table? Levenhuk Customer Service:
200x is the maximum magnification of the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope that you can obtain using accessories included in the kit.
(2014-07-26 08:06):

But description reads "Apart from the telescope itself, you also get the optics for astronomical and terrestrial observations". There is certainly a mistake either in the description or in your answer... Levenhuk Customer Service:
There are no mistakes, with accessories included in the standard kit you will get direct (not inverted), but mirrored image, which is acceptable for terrestrial observations.
(2014-07-25 02:11):

Hello! What can I do to get correctly oriented not mirrored images when observing terrestrial objects? Thanks Levenhuk Customer Service:
You should use an erecting prism. Unfortunately suitable erecting prism is currently unavailable.
(2014-07-09 07:03):

can I use refracting telescope to observe deep-sky objects (galaxies, nebulae, clusters)? what about astrophotography? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Refractors are more suited to planetary observations, while reflectors are better for observing deep-sky objects (galaxies, nebulae and star clusters) and astrophotography. You can find more information on telescope types here - http://www.levenhuk.com/reviews/begginers_guide_to_telescopes/
(2014-07-09 07:00):

Can I ask you off topic question? I'd like to purchase a telescope, tell me which one is better? Possibly not very expensive around $100-150. Can I see planets, the Moon and stars with reflector? Levenhuk Customer Service:
When choosing a telescope you should focus on its objective lens diameter, since telescope magnification and image quality depend on this value. Detailed information on what you can see with a telescope based on its aperture can be found here: http://www.levenhuk.com/reviews/things_you_can_see/. Planets, the Moon and stars can be seen with any telescope, but refractors are more suitable for planetary observations and reflectors - for observing deep-sky objects. Please consider Levenhuk Skyline 70x700 AZ Telescope - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skyline-70x700-az/
(2014-04-13 10:15):

Hello! I bought this telescope (Levenhuk Strike 50 NG). I'm a beginner and I can't understand one thing... Well, when I insert diagonal prism into the telescope and then F20mm or F6mm eyepiece I can see everything very good (the Moon appears very clear, its craters are not seen that well but still good enough). When after diagonal prism I insert 3x Barlow and then eyepieces the image gets very blurred. The Moon seems like just a glowing spot. So with Barlow lens I can't see anything... why? what am I doing wrong? Levenhuk Customer Service:
With Barlow lens It's better to use F20mm eyepiece. And don't forget to focus the telescope properly.
(2014-04-04 08:38):

Which one's better? Levenhuk Strike 60 NG or Levenhuk Strike 50 NG ? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 60 NG is a preferable choice.
(2014-04-04 08:24):

will the image be 'mirrored'? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes, the image will be 'mirrored'.
(2014-04-04 08:17):

1.) What's the maximum useful magnification? 2.) Is it possible to observe terrestrial objects? 3.) does it produce direct or reversed images? Levenhuk Customer Service:
1. The maximum useful magnification can be calculated as D * 2, where D - diameter of the objective lens. Thus we get 100x. 2. Yes, you can observe terrestrial objects with Levenhuk Strike 50 NG model. 3. The image will be "mirrored".
(2014-03-25 01:34):

Hello! I've been wondering, on the box it is written that I can get 200x magnification with this telescope, but, in fact, I am only able to get 100x. Could you kindly explain how can I get 200x? Levenhuk Customer Service:
With 6 mm eyepiece and 3x Barlow Lens you can achieve even 300-fold increase. But 100x is the magnification that does not cause any quality loss. Higher magnifications make images blurred.
(2014-03-12 10:19):

Hi! What can I see through this telescope? Is it suitable for beginners? And can I use it out of town in summer? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Strike 50 NG telescope is an entry-level model, perfect for beginners and suitable for suburban observations. You will be able to observe the Moon in details, constellations, Solar System planets as stars. More detailed information on the things you can see with a telescope based on its aperture can be found here - http://www.levenhuk.com/reviews/things_you_can_see/
(2014-01-04 04:16):

Hi! I can't see anything through the telescope. At night I installed all the lenses one after another but still could see nothing. Is there any chance I assembled it wrong? I'm not so sure I understand correctly how to assemble the telescope. Please help me. Thanks Levenhuk Customer Service:
You can find assembly instructions in the user manual: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/materials/0/levenhuk-strike-ng-web.pdf. It's recommended to test Levenhuk Strike 50 NG at day time, using some distant object, a tree for example. It's recommended to start your observations with eyepieces that provide minimum magnification, gradually increasing it.
(2013-12-26 05:32):

I wanna buy a telescope for the kids AND for myself :-) which one'll be your recommendation? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Consider this model http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk-strike-80/.
(2013-12-06 10:37):

Is it possible to use solar filter instead of lunar filter? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Solar filters are supposed to be used for solar observations only.
(2013-10-27 05:06):

I want to buy a telescope for my son's fourteenth birthday, suggest which one. Levenhuk Customer Service:
You can choose one of the telescopes of our Strike series for beginners. These telescopes are a perfect choice for kids and teenagers. We would suggest these two models: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk-strike-60/, http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk-strike-80/
(2013-10-26 10:29):

Hi. I've read all the questions and answers but still didn't understand. Is there erecting prism in the kit? Some people say there isn't, some people say there is, but the image still will be mirrored. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Up-to-date information on the contents of the kit is available in the product description. To get an erect image you need an erecting prism, which is not included in the kit, but may be purchased separately.
(2013-10-21 07:47):

Hello. I'm gonna travel by plane after the purchase. What size is that box and how do you pack it? Should I park the telescope (packed) in the baggage or should I take it as a cabin baggage? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The telescope comes in original packaging with a sturdy printed carton, as it's shown on the product page. Package size is 32.3?13.8?6.3 in. You should check where it's better to carry the box with your airline.
(2013-10-13 01:21):

what's the difference between Levenhuk Strike 80 NG and Levenhuk Strike 50 NG? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The difference between Levenhuk Strike 80 NG and Levenhuk Strike 50 NG is in the objective lens diameter. The greater the diameter, the more magnification and the higher the image quality.

With the Levenhuk Strike 50 NG model you can see many craters on the Moon, the rings of Saturn, atmospheric flows and moons of Jupiter, faint stars up to 11.5 stellar magnitude, sunspots (only with the aperture filter), many Messier objects without details in them.

And also it says that it's possible to observe sunspots. Does it mean that there are some filters in the kit? If there aren't and they are supposed to be purchased separately, why is it determined as an "out of the box" ability then? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The kit does not include a solar filter, but it can be purchased separately. The contents of the telescope's kit is described in "The kit includes" section. This model is suitable for Sun observations using a special filter.
(2013-02-01 10:56):

What about an erecting prism or an eyepiece? R they included in the kit or not? I can't find anything about it in the description!! So it's not claer if it's necessary to buy it, if the customer wants to look at an erect image. Levenhuk Customer Service:
There are no such accessories in the kit. But they can be purchased separately. more
