Levenhuk Skyline 60x700 AZ is a quality and reliable telescope for beginners. With this model you can study the details of the lunar surface relief up to 5 miles in size, the phases of Venus, polar caps and maria on Mars during the opposition, atmospheric flows of Jupiter, rings of Saturn and lots of other fascinating views! The telescope’s relatively small dimensions and light weight make it easily transportable, meaning you can take it with you for observations in the countryside.
Levenhuk Skyline 60x700 AZ is a refractor or, in other words, a lens telescope. All optical surfaces are covered with a special coating, allowing increasing the light-gathering capacity of the lenses. Thus the telescope provides bright, sharp and contrast images.
A wide field of view 5x optical finder scope is supplied with the telescope to navigate to celestial objects. In the kit you will also find two eyepieces. It is recommended to start your observations with a 20 mm eyepiece, which provides relatively low magnification of 35x but allows for a wider field of view. The second eyepiece has a 4 mm focal length, which produces high resulting magnification of 175x and is recommended for detailed studies of desired objects.
The kit also contains a 3x Barlow lens that will help you significantly extend the range of the telescope’s magnifications.
The optical tube is installed on an altazimuth mount, which allows you to move the tube horizontally and vertically. The mount’s reliable mechanics allow the telescope to move smoothly with no backlash. The aluminum tripod supporting the mount features adjustable height and an accessory tray, allowing you to keep all required accessories within reach.
The kit includes:
- Levenhuk Skyline 60x700 AZ Telescope
- 20 mm eyepiece (35x)
- 4 mm eyepiece (175x)
- 3x Barlow lens
- 5x24 finderscope
- Diagonal prism
- Cleaning wipe
- Altazimuth mount
- Aluminum tripod and accessory tray
- User manual and lifetime warranty

greetings. what telescope would you suggest for a 12 yo boy? Or maybe a microscope too. around 200-250$ Levenhuk Customer Service:
For a 12 years old, we recommend Levenhuk Strike 80 NG Telescope https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-80-ng/; Levenhuk Rainbow D2L Digital Microscope https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-d2l/; Levenhuk Rainbow 50L PLUS Microscope https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-50l-plus-moonstone/.
Is there a lens/filter to purchase for city viewing for this telescope? I cannot find one on the website. Thank you for your help. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Blake, thank you for your inquiry. Currently we do not have filters for this telescope. But the telescope can be used without filters for terrestrial observations. Is there any additional information you might need?
I can't see anything when using the Barlow Lens... what's the reason? Levenhuk Customer Service:
It's possible that the maximum useful magnification is exceeded. Talking about the supplemented eyepieces, Barlow lens can be used with a 20x one.
Could you please name some nebulae that I can observe in detail with this telescope model? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Please pay attention to this article - https://www.levenhuk.com/reviews/things_you_can_see/#first_group.
Hello! Does the finderscope produce inverted or direct images? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The finderscope produces inverted images.
I can't see anything when using the Barlow lens. Why? Levenhuk Customer Service:
It's possible that the maximum useful magnification of the model was exceeded. If we talk about the eyepieces from the kit, you can use this Barlow lens with the 20mm eyepiece.
Greetings! We are choosing a telescope for a 10 year old kid. Is this model suitable for this age? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes, Levenhuk Skyline 60x700 AZ Telescope is a perfect choice for a 10 year old kid.
Which telescope would be best for a gift for a 12 year old? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Hi Trish, Thanks for the query. The Levenhuk Skyline 60х700 AZ Telescope would be a good choice, but I'd rather recommend to go for the Levenhuk Strike 80 NG Telescope which you may find here at https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-80-ng/ This telescope not only has a larger objective lens, but also comes with a special kit for beginners which includes the following: "See it all!" Astronomer's Handbook, 3D planetarium software, Space Posters Set (Moon, Sun and Other Stars, Solar System), Planisphere and Compass. Is there any additional information you might need?
What lenses and eyepieces will help me achieve the highest practical power of this telescope model (120x)? Could you also give me a link to your solar filters section? I know you have such filters, just couldn't find them in the catalogue... Levenhuk Customer Service:
To obtain the highest practical power of the Levenhuk Skyline 60x700 AZ telescope you can use a 6-millimeter eyepiece (it will give you 114x magnification power). For example, Levenhuk Plossl 6 mm Eyepiece - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-plossl-6mm-eyepiece/. Levenhuk solar filters can be found here - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/solar-filters/
Hello! I need a telescope as a gift for a friend. Please help me choose! Experience level - adult beginner, with no further plans to deepen into some serious astronomy. The goal - observe the Moon, closest stars, terrestrial objects. Is there any significant difference in image quality between 50- or 60-millimeter telescopes? Which telescope would you recommend? And one more question. The diagonal prism and the erecting one... are they the same thing? Will I get upright images? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The objective lens diameter (aperture) affects image quality. The larger the lens, the more light the telescope can gather. And, therefore, images produced by a large aperture telescope are brighter, sharper, and more detailed. We recommend that you consider the following telescope models: Levenhuk Strike 60 NG Telescope - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-60-ng/, Levenhuk Strike 80 NG Telescope - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-80-ng/, and Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-90-plus/. The diagonal prism (included in the kit with Levenhuk Skyline 60x700 AZ telescope) allows you to obtain upright but mirror reversed images. And the erecting prism gives you upright and non-reversed images of observed terrestrial objects. more
