Will I see from 25 cm if I buysome extrta accessory for macroviewing?or as close as possibnle ?
Customer service:
Unfortunately, we do not have such accessories in the product range of our online store.
Eric Olson (2018.05.17)
Why do the objective and eyepiece have different colors?
Customer service:
The objective lens can have a different color due to the application of anti-reflective colored layer.
Eric Olson (2018.05.10)
And what twilight numbers do 10x42 and 8x42 models have?
Customer service:
The twilight factor of Levenhuk Wise 8x42 Monocular is 18.33. Levenhuk Wise 10õ42 Monocular has 20.4. The twilight factor is a way of mathematically describing how the size of the lens and magnification of the binoculars affect the ability to show details in low light conditions.
The twilight factor can be used to compare the effectiveness of binoculars in twilight or in the absence of light because it does not take into account the quality of lenses and prisms. The factor that determines the resolution or detail of the image depends on how much the observed scene is illuminated. In the afternoon, when the diameter of the pupil is only 2–3 mm, the resolution will be determined by the magnification. At night, when the pupil expands to 6-8 mm, the main factor is the aperture. In the twilight, both these factors play a role, that is why the twilight factor is chosen to determine the efficiency of the binocular under these conditions. The higher the twilight factor is, the greater the resolution of the binoculars when observing with a lack of light. It can be calculated by multiplying the magnification by the diameter of the aperture and finding the square root. For example, 7x42 binoculars have a twilight factor of 17.2 (7x42=294, square root of 294 ~ 17.2). This is the minimum value for successful observations at twilight. The 8x56 binoculars have a twilight factor of about 21.2. And 8x30 binoculars has 15.5, which is less than the required value for observations under low illumination.
The twilight factor is just one of many parameters, and it does not say anything about the real quality of the image, which may be crucial for observing the indistinct details of the image at dusk.
Twilight efficiency, as a rule, is determined by high light transmittance in the right spectral range, less scattering of light and high contrast and resolution as possible. You can use the twilight factor to measure the twilight efficiency of a binocular if all these requirements are met simultaneously. Before the invention of modern anti-reflective coatings, the twilight factor played a significant role. Therefore, the twilight efficiency of modern binoculars is determined not only by the twilight factor but by the quality of glass and optical coatings. Good coatings can almost double the amount of light passing through some binoculars, compared to other that don’t have high-quality coatings.

10x42 and 8x32 models have the same exit pupil diameter… so what is better about 10x42 model? what gives us its higher aperture size?
Customer service:
The larger the lens diameter is, the more light that a monocular collects. The brighter the picture is and the more the angle of view.
Eric Olson (2018.05.10)
Does the monocular have one or two focusing rings?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 Monocular has one focusing ring.
Eric Olson (2018.05.09)
Thank you for such an exhaustive explanation of exit pupil diameters! 10x42 model has 4mm, but there is also higher magnification in it and that’s why it’s equally good for observations in twilight as 8x42?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Wise PLUS 8x42 Monocular is better for observations in twilight.
Eric Olson (2018.05.05)
Which adapter is suitable for smartphone photographyy? Which tripod is suitable?
Customer service:
Levenhuk A10 Smartphone Adapter https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/astrophotography-accessories/levenhuk-a10-smartphone-adapter/ is suitable for Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 Monocular. The Monocular has a standard thread of 1.4". It can be mounted on any photo-tripod.
Eric Olson (2018.05.01)
hi. Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 has exit pupil of 4 mm. 8x42 has 5.2 mm. What exaclty gives us this difference?
Customer service:
Exit pupil is determined by the amount of light that entered the lens and emerged from the eyepiece. This is an important characteristic for evaluating how the binoculars work under reduced illumination. The size of exit pupil is obtained by dividing the lens aperture to magnification. For example, in 15x50 binoculars the exit pupil is 50/15=3.33 mm. The higher this value, the more efficiently binoculars work in poor lighting conditions. For well-lit landscapes, the pupil should be from 2.5 to 4 mm.
If you hold the binoculars on extended arms, you can easily notice the lighted circles in the eyepieces - these are the exit pupils. It is important to note that the ability to fully benefit from a wide exit pupil depends on the observer’s eyes and often on age. With age, the eye reduces the ability to dark adaptation. Teenager’s pupil can open up to 7 mm, and the elderly person only up to 5 mm. Therefore, an elderly person cannot take advantage of a wide exit pupil, but can be satisfied with a small, lighter binocular model. In the light, the human’s pupil is usually 2–3 mm, and the exit pupil of binoculars should be about 3 mm. For dark observations, you need binoculars with larger diameter of the exit pupil, because in the dark our pupils expand more strongly. The disadvantage of such binoculars is usually that they are large and heavy. Levenhuk Wise PLUS 8x42 Monocular will be more convenient for handheld observations.

How long will they withstand water immersion (around 5cm depth). The thing is that during water treks the instrument can be in water for quite a long time, as I can’t hang them around the neck, there’s a bunch of important staff hanging there already.
Customer service:
Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 Monocular withstands water immersion at a depth of 1 meter for about 30 minutes. Prolonged immersion in water is not recommended.
Slav (2017.10.13)
What about the model’s water resistance? Will it withstand rain, accidental fall into water?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 Monocular has a waterproof shell that allows observations in fog and under heavy rain.
Anthony Burton (2017.08.09)

Customer service:
Yes, you can see protozoa and single-celled organisms using Levenhuk LabZZ M3 microscope.
ezra (2017.05.28)
Hello, I just bought this item and is it okay if i bend the rubber eyecup forward?
Customer service:
Hello Ezra, thank you for your inquiry.
The eyepiece is equipped with an ergonomic soft rubber eyecup that efficiently cuts out any outside glare (and can also be easily removed when you don’t need it).
Is there any additional information you might need?
Kurt Petersen (2016.04.27)
Ok, thank you, then which one is better - Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 or Wise PLUS 8x42?
Customer service:
Both models are great for hiking. Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 Monocular has higher magnification power, but field of view is not so wide. Levenhuk Wise PLUS 8x42 Monocular features wide field of view, but magnification is lower.
Kurt Petersen (2016.04.23)
Hello! Which one is better for hiking and travel - Levenhuk Wise 10–30x25 Monocular or Wise PLUS 10x42? Including bad weather
Customer service:
Levenhuk Wise PLUS 10x42 Monocular is a preferred choice due to larger objective lens diameter.
Don Reeves (2015.12.22)
what is a monocular used for?
Customer service:
Monoculars are used for observations of distant objects. They work the same way as binoculars, but have only one eyepiece to look through.
Gary Cox (2015.09.13)
please provide operation temperature range for this device
