Magnification up to 640x
Microscope magnification depends on the objective lens and eyepiece lens magnifications. The eyepiece is the upper part of the tube of the microscope that you look into. The objective is located below and creates the image you see in the eyepiece. One WF16x eyepiece and three objectives (4x, 10x and 40x) are included in the package.
Observing non-transparent objects
The Levenhuk 3L NG Microscope, unlike other teaching microscopes, is equipped with two built-in illuminations. Both illuminations are LED, which ensures minimal energy consumption while providing sufficient light. Illumination systems are located above and below the stage, and allow observing both transparent and opaque objects: from tiny solid particles to coins, paper, fabrics, etc.
Power supply
The microscope features an AC adapter, for stationary observations without batteries.
Caution: Please refer to the specifications table for the correct mains voltage and never attempt to plug a 110V device into 220V outlet and vice versa without using a converter. Remember that mains voltage in the U.S. and Canada is 110V and 220-240V in most European countries.

Does this microscope have a 10x wide field lens? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Hi, Thanks for the query. The Levenhuk 3L NG Microscope comes with the following objective lenses: 4x, 10x and 40x.
(2016-01-01 11:03):

I don't understand how to use 40x eyepiece. It's always dark when looking through the eyepiece. What could be the problem? Levenhuk Customer Service:
You can find the detailed instructions in the user manual. At the highest increase you can observe transparent thin slices. Change magnification power gradually from low to high. Smoothly adjust focus every time you change magnification power.
(2016-01-01 05:27):

Hello! I bought this microscope as a new year gift for my son. I have a few questions to ask: 1. does the kit include cover slips? We didn't find them in the package... 2. how to observe at 640 x? we tried to adjust focus but it didn't work, couldn't see anything... 3. one more thing. the eyepiece was disassembled when delivered, we somehow managed to assemble it but we also scratched the glass, and now those scratches can be seen when observing... can I buy those glasses separately (for 16x eyepiece)? thank you! Levenhuk Customer Service:
1. Cover slips are not included in the kit. You can buy the separately here - https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-g100-cover-slips/. 2. You need to start with low magnification power, then switch to a more powerful objective and smoothly adjust focus. 3. Eyepieces are delivered assembled. We don't sell those glasses separately.
(2015-12-09 10:34):

Hello, if I buy this scope, can I also purchase a case for it? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Unfortunately, microscope cases are not available in our store. Please consider Levenhuk 50L NG Microscope - https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-50l-ng/

would this be good choice for a 14 yr old high school student? if not, what would you recommend Levenhuk Customer Service:
Hi Olen, Thanks for the query. The 3L NG microscope would be a good choice, but I'd rather recommend to go for a more powerful 50L NG microscope which allows observing much smaller objects. Additionally, the 50L NG model comes with two eyepieces, a Barlow lens and a carrying case plus you can choose from several amazing colors. You may find more information here at https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-50l-ng/. Is there any additional information you might need?

guys, the microscope is great! the kit is just awesome! yesterday we saw rotifers! But it seems there's a mistake in the product description - I didn't get a cover, which I don't need anyways... and amateur microscope model isn't supposed to have a condenser, am I right? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk 3L NG Microscope comes with both dust cover and condenser. The dust cover is packed in a small transparent bag. The condenser is located between the stage and the illuminator. Amateur and educational microscopes are usually equipped with fixed and non-removable condenser.

A binocular microscope has two eyepieces (one for each eye); a monocular microscope - one eyepiece only.
(2014-09-01 10:45):

I am reading ""Attractive Microscope. Scrutinizing the Microcosm"" User Guide and I have couple of questions: 1. I've read that I can make a 'hanging drop' using special slide with a hole. But such slide is not included in the kit. What can I do about it? 2. it says that it's possible to use a drop of resin under high magnifications (how will I clean it off afterwards?) I thought that only immersion oil can be used and only with immersion objectives under very large increases, am I wrong? Levenhuk Customer Service:
In the 'Attractive Microscope. Scrutinizing the Microcosm""' User Guide there's no mention of this slide being included in the kit. You can always purchase microscope slides separately. A drop of resin is used to paste cover slips and slides together, it has nothing to do with immersion technique.
(2014-08-27 09:34):

Good day! A child (10 y/o) is interested in microscopes. Does it make sense to pay extra money for the Levenhuk 50L NG, or will the 3L NG be enough for the kid? Having compared these two models, I see that the main difference is the magnification. What interesting things can't be seen with 3L NG, but visible with 50L NG? Thanks for answering.
