Magnification up to 640x
Microscope magnification depends on the objective lens and eyepiece lens magnifications. Eyepiece is the upper part of the tube of the microscope that you look into. Objective is located below; and creates the image you see in the eyepiece. One WF16x eyepiece and three objectives (4x, 10x and 40x) are included in the package.
Observing non-transparent objects
The Levenhuk 2L NG Microscope, unlike other teaching microscopes, is equipped with two built-in illuminations. Both illuminations are LED, which ensures minimal energy consumption while providing sufficient light. Illumination systems are located above and below the stage, and allow observing both transparent and opaque objects: from tiny solid particles to coins, paper, fabrics, etc.
The microscope features an AC adapter, for stationary observations without batteries.
Caution: Please refer to the specifications table for the correct mains voltage and never attempt to plug a 110V device into 220V outlet and vice versa without using a converter. Remember that mains voltage in the U.S. and Canada is 110V and 220-240V in most European countries.
The kit includes:
- Objectives: 4x, 10x and 40x
- Eyepiece: WF16x
- Stage with clips
- Diaphragm disk
- Built-in upper and lower LED illuminations
- AC adapter
- 3 AA batteries
- User manual and lifetime warranty

WHERE ARE THE STUDENT MICROSCOPES MADE? AND HOW ARE THE REVIEWS? DO THE RAINBOW SCOPES COME WITH A CASE? ARE THEY MADE OF METAL? HOW IS THE QUALITY/ THANK YOU MARY Levenhuk Customer Service:
Hi Mary, Thanks for the query. Our microscopes are made in PRC under the quality control of Levenhuk, Inc. We are rather new to the US market so we haven't recevied many reviews yet. We got a couple of reviews on Google which you may find here at http://goo.gl/bKY8Bn All Rainbow series microscopes are made of metal and include high-quality optics, but only the 50L NG models come with the plastic case. Another advantage of the 50L NG series is that each model comes with a Barlow lens so you can get 1280x magnification. Also, the upper LED illumination in 50L NG is removable which comes in handy when you need to look at objects from different angles. Also included is a K50 Experiment Kit ($29.95 value) which is not a part of the 2L NG package. You may review the contents of the kit here at https://www.levenhuk.com/products/acc_levenhuk_K50/ You may find the 50L NG Azure Microscope here at https://www.levenhuk.com/products/microscope_levenhuk_rainbow_50L_NG_azure/ Is there any additional information you might need?
2L NG comes with batteries? I thought that only 40 and 50L NG. Or it's just a mistake in the description? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The new supply of these models operates on batteries as well as AC adapter. more
