Levenhuk Energy PLUS 16x42 is one of the most powerful instruments in the series. With its 16x magnification, you can observe wildlife from a faraway hiding spot, where you remain hidden from view. The high-quality fully multi-coated optics of this model produce sharp and bright views in true colors. With their impressive range of features, these binoculars also provide for maximum comfort during observations.

Optics features
The main feature of all Levenhuk Energy PLUS binoculars is the high-quality roof prisms. These prisms - made of BaK-4 glass - are fully multi-coated to produce exceptionally sharp and clear views in true colors.

Shell construction
Levenhuk Energy PLUS binoculars have completely waterproof shells, so you can use them even if it rains cats and dogs outside - the optics will not suffer any damage. Furthermore, the shell will even protect the optics in case your binoculars fall into water (60 seconds at 3 feet depth). The rubber armor of the shell provides for a firm grip on the binoculars, making sure they won't slip from wet hands. There is also a small bracket on the side, which allows you to attach a strap to the binoculars.

Features
Apart from delivering high-quality views, truly modern binoculars have to be easy and comfortable to use. Levenhuk Energy PLUS models have everything to make your observations enjoyable:

  • The central focusing wheel allows you to quickly focus the view in both eyepieces with a single turn.
  • The diopter adjustment ring allows you to adjust the focus of the eyepieces separately to better suit your eyesight.
  • Eyecups provide for maximum comfort during observations and are made of soft rubber that protects your eyelids from accidental bruising and cuts.

The kit includes:

  • Levenhuk Energy PLUS binoculars
  • Nylon pouch
  • Strap
  • Cleaning wipe
  • User guide and lifetime warranty

Donna (2015-02-02 11:36): Positive
I am searching for a new pair of binoculars specifically for looking at birds that are a distance away. I am trying to observe birds at a pond that is in a park across the road from my house. With my current 10X binoculars, I cannot see the birds close up. I want to be able to see the head of the ducks and geese. I am thinking about getting these 16X42 and debating between these and the 15x56 or the 12x50. What a decision! I don't want to use a tripod, but I do want to see the birds close up. I have narrowed it down to these three. Which is more important--brightness, eye pupil diameter, or twilight factor? My uneducated guess, tells me that the brightness factor is fairly important and so is the eye relief since I wear glasses, so I am thinking I should narrow this down to the 12X50 and the 15X56. What a problem for me! Please help. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Donna, thank you for your interest in Levenhuk products. Please note, you will need to use a tripod with powerful binoculars. A magnification of 16 will make the object appear 16 times closer to you or 16 times larger than you would see it with the naked eye. As the number increases, the image becomes more blurred and shaky and less bright. This happens because, along with the object, everything else is magnified, including the tremble in your hands. If magnification is higher than 10, you should use the tripod. The second number, 42 in our example, indicates the diameter of the front lens. The higher the diameter of the front lens, the better it is for the image. If you wear glasses, you have to consider the eye relief of the binoculars. The eye relief is the maximum distance from the eye to the eyepiece at which the entire field of view is still observable. This distance shouldn't be smaller than the thickness of your glasses. The exit pupil roughly tells you what the brightness of the image will be. It is calculated in millimeters by dividing the second number by the first, like this: 42/16=2,6. For basic purposes 2.5-3 is just fine. For stargazing, 5-7 is better. Is there any additional information you might need?

What are the best ones for use on sailboats. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Mac, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products. We'd recommend to look through the Levenhuk Energy PLUS 8x42 Binoculars. A magnification of 8 will be enough for your purposes. As the number increases, the image becomes more blurred and shaky and less bright. This happens because, along with the object, everything else is magnified, including the tremble in your hands and you will need to use a tripod. Is there any additional information you might need?

Hi. Please answer the questions: 1) what's the range of diopter adjustment? 2) what's the range of interpupillary distance adjustment? 3) what's the user level for these binoculars? Levenhuk Customer Service:
1) The diopter adjustment range is -3 to +3 diopters. 2) The range of interpupillary distance adjustment is 60-75 mm. 3) Levenhuk Energy PLUS 16x42 Binoculars are great choice for advanced users.

dear admins, the certificate reads that the weight is 1.587 lb while the web site reads 2.474 lb. please update this info because it's confusing. By the way the dimensions in the certificate are 137х127х50 mm Levenhuk Customer Service:
Thank you for your alertness. However on the product pages we provide dimensions and weight for products packed in the packaging boxes since it's much more convenient to estimate shipping costs this way.
